Commando Krav Maga, also known as CKM. Is a reality based fighting system developed by Moni Aizik. Moni Aizik is a 7 time Israeli Judo champion both as a youth and as an adult. Moni Aizik's extensive knowledge in martial arts and Krav Maga meant he was able to combine his knowledge into what is one of the most effective self defense systems in the world.
Commando Krav Maga will teach you how to successfully defeat single or multiple attackers and deal confidently with attackers using weapons (guns, knives, bottles, bats etc). CKM teaches its students to take control of any threatening confrontation. Whether you come up against a violent person in the street, a grappler or a seasoned street fighter - you will learn how to take control.
Commando Krav Maga relies on reality based training with a particularly strong emphasis on stress testing. Since there are no complicated techniques or kata to master progress is rapid. The idea underpinning Commando Krav Maga is that simplicity is genius, as complicated moves do not work while under high amounts of pressure.
Whenever possible you should always aim to disengage and escape any potentially threatening confrontation. However, this is not always possible so you need to learn how to take control and end the confrontation as quickly as possible. There are no rules in CKM - anything goes - just as it would in a violent street attack - so you will learn how to utilise your surroundings to the best advantage.
CKM is a reality based fighting system and therefore not a martial art in the traditional sense. There is no belt system only levels, 1-10. The highest reachable level is 8 as level 9 and 10 are symbolic of the systems consant need to update and evolve.
Grading is based on understanding of concepts, tactics and techniques but the most important is how you do during surprise attack test. These can be anywhere from 4 minutes to 20 depending on the level.
Moni Aizik personally passes and assess all the insturctors throughout the world. This helps to keep a close rappour with his instructors to ensure a high quality of teaching.
